Looking for Heathrow clubhouse recommendations

Early in the New Year I will get to visit the Heathrow clubhouse for the first time having cashed in my miles. I only fly three or four times a year with Virgin so I won't ever reach gold membership of the flying club. I've flown UC once before but not from Heathrow and so don't know what to expect.

Im taking the VS1 in the afternoon and thought I would arrive mid to late morning to make the most of my time there. Can anyone give me some recommendations so I can make the most of my visit? I have been to the Newark clubhouse very early in the morning before so I am assuming it is similar but on a bigger scale.

Thank You in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply. :)

The time I went to the EWR CH I enjoyed greatly the clubby ambience and the food and drink. However, the LHR CH has....

- greater choice of food,
- haircuts, manicures, facials,
- view of the airport,
- a shiny staircase.

Additionally you'll be able to use;

- drive through check in,
- private security channel,

Arrive early. Enjoy.

Firstly, don't be in a rush to take it all in and give yourself as much time as possible :D

Even before you get to the Clubhouse, you will experience the private security channel (although you still have to cross the hurdle of the Duty Free Shops before you get to the Clubhouse). On arrival at the Clubhouse entrance you will be offered to be shown around - take the offer so you get your bearings

Mrs Buns and I have a routine of:

Book treatments
Sit at the Brasserie and have a meal
Find area to sit and relax

All the while making sure we are served with fluids ):

Enjoy

Thanks Buns. Having read other threads and seen the options here in this thread I'm aiming to get there late morning for my flight so I have a few hours to enjoy it.

A big thanks for all of the helpful advice. I'm really enjoying the clubhouse. I had a wonderful light lunch and am enjoying a "Virgin Redhead" before having a shave in the salon and boarding Lady Penelope a bit later this afternoon. I hope she is indeed FAB.
