V-Flyer

Hi We are flying out to Sydney U/C on Christmas day and I was wondering if the is a fast track in Sydney as we have to catch an internal flight to Brisbane and we could do with out any long delays going through customs' etc
Also do Virgin have a transfer system to domestic departures

Any help would be welcome

Yes there is a fast track lane for both arriving immigration and then quarantine as well (quarantine lines are normally longer too). You will be given a fast track invite card at some point (which I seem to remember was before you leave the aircraft).

You go though immigration first, then collect you bags, then go though quarantine.

When I arrived of a Upper Class flight last year, there was no wait at immigration and about a 10 minute wait at quarantine (make sure you have no food what so ever in any of your luggage).

I dont know about Virgin connections, though I think DJ are in a different terminal at SYD I believe?

There is a connection service to the domestic terminals. It's clearly marked when you're leaving immigration. You check in at the international terminal and then transfer by bus to the domestic terminal.

If you're travelling with Qantas, you get to drive past all of their engineering workshops with the A380s. It's a pretty awesome experience.

we were looking to take some English chocalate and sweets in

Declare anything vaguely food related no matter how inert you think it is even tinned stuff.

English chocolates and sweets will be fine if the are in their packets. We have taken them in several times....but do declare them....If you want to use the fast track customs, one of the condition is that you have no food at all, ie nothing to declare. So if taking chocolates....no fast track customs!
