Going way back to my youth, a northern musical link in 'Jennifer Eccles'. Though that's more Salford than Manchester....
Slightly more up to date could be 'Shakespeare's Sister' or 'Shiela Take A Bow', or in honour of the bard of Salford, 'Salome Maloney'

I think that "Red Rose" wouldn't be too bad.........even if I do come from the "better" side of the hill so my allegiance is to the White Rose!!!
