Hi all,

In May, the wife and I will be flying with VS to Las Vegas. We've never flown VS from LGW before (always LHR routes on 343's) and was wondering what, if any of course, difference there is between the 343s we usually fly by and the 747s that operate from LGW, especially with cabin layouts, IFE, etc. Also, I haven't flown from LGW for a LONG time and am after any tips, advice, etc for parking, shopping, eating there.

ANY help/advice is gratefully received!

Well the first thing you will notice is that with the Gatwick 747 Fleet now having been refurbished, the touch screen IFE will make the direct flight less tedious than was he case last year

Also, on board, expect more than your fair share of stag / hen parties which may lead to the bar being closed early

As far as Gatwick is concerned, it has seen a remarkable transformation since being taken over from BAA. getting through security is now a breeze although I must admit the pre security shops seem to have been greatly diminished

Economy. Which leads me onto another question - is there a difference between the 343 PE product and the LGW 747 one? I am weighing up the options for an upgrad to PE.

If your upstairs it will take you longer to get off and the economy passengers in the bubble will be off before you aswell. Longer to wait at border control.
