Quick poll -is it worth it

Am flying JFK-LHR on Thursday in PE, G' s have become available on the later flight. (VS010 instead of VS046)
Wll cost me circa £500 and 42500 miles to upgrade two of us, (taxes change fees, and to buy the extra 26000 miles needed)
It will mean about 3 1/2 hrs CH time and obviously a nicer seat coming home. but with a short flight time is it worth the cost ?
I know many will say is it worth it to me but just want to gauge others opinions.
Thanks

Not so much my opinion, but that of Mrs Buns ): :
If such an option were to be presented to me, I would expected to do it, not only for the Clubhouse and the comfort on board, but also the use of Revivals - Mrs Buns would not let me forget it if I did not go for the G's

Are you AU? If so, then I'd probably pass. Otherwise it's not a bad price for the upgrade, and personally I prefer the VS10 and find it much easier to sleep on it.

Should you wish to stay married to Mrs Chumba for the forseeable future then I'd say yes

As an only occasional flyer with no status, another yes vote from here. However, don't waste the on board time asleep......

50/50 for me --- I sometimes prefer PE on shorter flights -- I find the seat more comfortable -- obviously no bar or bed but still good food, drink and crew.
Depends on my mood as I book the flight, I don't look at saving the money, more what I could buy for that on my travels.
Enjoy the flight whatever your choice

For a 6 hour flight, I wouldn't bother. Spend the £500 on something whilst you're away or another trip.

If I had to make the choice, I probably wouldn't go for it for a short flight like that.
If I had the miles and didn't need to buy any, maybe, but £500? No, I wouldn't.
But then, maybe you just won the lottery!!!

effectively 500 for the CH and revivals ,such a short flight the sleep aspect is hardly worth it..........IMO no. you could buy lounge access cheaper if it was that important

I would jump at it every time.
There is a huge difference between PE and UC.
Well worth £250 and some miles.

Thanks everyone for your views
I do have the miles in my account so wouldn't have to buy them could do a straight purchase and only pay change fee and extra taxes, but then those miles (200k) are earmarked for 2 full G's for next years trip hence the need to purchase the extra miles.
I am not AU anymore so can't get into the CH without the ticket !
We are perfectly happy with PE and as mentioned it is a short flight so won't get much sleep, and we wouldn't be able to,use revivals on return due to a tight connection time at LHR.
So i think I've answered my own question there and Mrs Chumba likes the idea of using the money to go shopping with ! Apparently she needs another pair of boots and another handbag !
Thanks for the wisdom, I just hope the boots and handbag don't cost more than £500
