On Line Check In

We Have pre allocated seats on our Virgin Atlantic Holiday flight, On previous Virgin Atlantic flights we checked in normally at the Airports.
I now understand to ensure getting the seats I must check in on line at least 13 hours before departure.
This only involves return flight as we are checking in Night Before at Gatwick.
As someone who has never done on line check in and is a complete novice on anything to do with computers ect,
Could someone help me please
1. Is my information correct
2 Exactly What details do I need to enter.
3 Am I able to use a 3rd parties equipment.
4 What is a sequence number I read about.
Sorry for such a long winded FIRST posting but at my age I need all the help I can get.
THANK YOU.

1. You can check in online to secure your seats for both trips and use twighlight check in as we'll. as far as I know the 13hour deadline applies to flights FROM the UK and not the flights back but you may be safer to do OLCI if able.

2. You just need your booking ref and name as long as you have filled in your advance passenger information in your booking on the VS website.

3. You can use any computer/Internet able device.

4. Your SEQ. number just states how many people have checked in before you. Some V-Fliers 'race' to be the first to check in and therefore get SEQ.1 on their boarding pass. This has no use/meaning other than a since of achevement that you were first.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to V-Flyer :)

1. Indeed, you need to check-in at least 13 hours in advance to keep your selected seats (though VS can change your seats at any time right up until the aircraft pushes back from the gate)
2. Depends on where you are flying, but you will usually need your VS booking reference, passport numbers & expiry dates (if this is not already stored in your online Flying Club profile)
3. Not 100% sure about this but I think you can only use the VS check-in machines and not the generic ones dotted around LGW.
4. Sequence numbers are the order in which passengers are checked in. SEQ1 means you are the first person to check-in for the flight.
