Evening all,
Sitting in Boston CH.
Service is a good as normal, not that busy and WiFi is working well.
I do have some very bad news for fellow residents of the this establishment.
THE CHOCOLATE CAKE HAS VANISHED!!!!! You can be assured I will be writing to Crawley Towers in the strongest terms v(

What is everyone's problems with friends of crew or off duty colleagues getting preferential treatment?

In all walks of lives you look after your own, when I worked for an engineering firm, friends and colleagues appointments were always met, or speeded up by everyone, in my local the off duty staff seem to get an extra shot or side order etc...
No one bats an eye lid, a lot of us on this site if we thought about it would be guilty of it. Yet when it comes to aviation it's a taboo and something to be scorned at?

I just don't get what the big problem is? It's a perk of the job, let them enjoy it.

Wow! Preferential over a full fare paying passenger who flies 30 or 40 times a year? Or simple nice benefits of the job? Be careful how you flame ): .

I have nothing at all against staff getting their benefits including UC travel, including clubhouses and champagne, including taking their family and friends on trips etc. But I don't want them, or really myself or anyone else to be treated preferentially while on board or in a clubhouse.

My error, for which I apologise. My aim was to a little bit of gentle mickey taking around an occasional tendency to assume a shortage of a preferred seat or meal as being always down to VS staff giving preferential treatment to their own.

I must say upon reading this I was saddened last night.. almost as much as I was upon hearing Jessops going belly up and now HMV going into administration... perhaps they are all related in some conspiracist terms???

About 2 years ago the cake vanished, replaced by an alternative version of a Black Forrest Gateau. I think enough people complained that it made a welcome return later that year. Here's hoping...
