Good afternoon all.

I have just received an email from Virgin regarding a reward seat sale.

Economy only offer period Jan 22 to Feb 05 2013.

Might be time to dust off those Amex upgrade vouchers.

Is it better or worse than the previous reward sale?

Have posted in the other thread regarding this Reward Seat Sale

Email states '8. Credit card upgrades cannot be applied to this offer.'

All in all, a pretty poor offering

I think a few people have managed to use the upgrade vouchers on previous sale fares as they have come across 'uninformed' agents on the phone - always worth a go y)

On a typical flight to Boston/NYC, the taxes and fees are £332 but if I start the journey in the US, the taxes/fees are $647, a straight exchange rate calc of $1.94 to the £.

Seems like we US residents get a raw deal on the taxes. Always thought they were fairly equivalent around the going rate of exchange. Did something change?
