Hello , can anyone offer a LHR. Clubhouse invite to my son ( 32 year old firefighter ) who is flying to Cape Town on vs603 ( departs approx 9.30pm I believe).
I have tried ringing Virgin to buy paid access which of course they said no to, did suggest ( ask) if there was any way that my guest invite which I would be entitled to when I fly upper alone in march could be transferred over to his flight on Friday but that was a no go , so am hoping that someone will take pity on him and give him a bit of respite before he wedges himself into one of those economy seats on the A330 :#

If you have no luck tell your son to try paying on the day.
I had the same problem last week when I went to NY with my son so I booked the no 1 lounge instead but on the way I decided to show my son where the CH was ,when we got to desk and I explained I was just showing my son the CH she asked if we would like to pay to come in which we did

Hi DOUGALSMUM
Have you tried looking at the Itinerary Calendar??
There may well be someone there already offering CH access??
There are a few trips in there for that date.

There's definitely one person flying that day flagged as [L] for offering lounge invite but their flight departs at 11.15 a.m.

Thanks for your replies , have already looked at the itinerary list but none of the lounge invites fits with my sons flight . Blacky - thanks for the suggestion but I wanted to pay for the loung access as part of a birthday treat for my son .
Looks like I'll have to make it the No1 lounge instead . It's not the clubhouse but at least it will offer him some comfort before his flight : )

Obviously I never made the no 1 lounge but I hear its quite good so your son should be fine and let's be honest anything beats sitting in a busy terminal.
Also hope he enjoys the flight and his time in SA

I've used the No1 lounge at Gatwick and it was quite good , so am sure the the Heathrow one will be okay , and as you say Blacky much better than sitting in the terminal: )

One last thing you could try.......
Give your son the £65. Get him to wonder up to the CH and ask.
If it's empty and he is ticketed on VS metal they can only say sorry.
I know plenty of others that have paid to get in.

I can confirm the N0 1 lounge is very nice (as an alternative)

Without withing to resort to pedantry, he'll be on an A340 to Cape Town. An A330-300 would run out of juice on a route that far.

Lol- thanks, Im not an expert on aircraft -all I know is they have wings and a varying number of engines ( lets not get into that debate !), so admit I was just guessing at the aircraft type : )
