Will be returning from ANU 9th Feb PE Does anyone have experience of the Big Banana lounge @ V C Bird? Is it worth £27 ?

For comedic value ANU is one of the most chaotic airports I've ever been to.
Check-in went OK but I had my doubts about whether our luggage would actually be loaded as it was simply being stacked behind the VS counter.
You then get to join a very, very long line of people attempting to get through Passport un-control and hand-luggage security; two scanners, one of which was broken.
No 'Fast track' or other priority channels; you take it as it comes and don't keep looking at your watch.
We were anticipating enjoying a final spiced rum in the lounge but eventually passed through the line chaos as VS were making final calls; no time for Duty Free; we made it across the apron onboard at the departure time and the aircraft remained in-situ for another twenty or thirty minutes for passengers still struggling through the lines.
Hang-on to you £27; I doubt if you'll get through ANU fast enough to enjoy any time in the lounge, unless you aim to be there around 4 hours in advance.

When going through ANU, you just have to repeatedly tell yourself that its all part of the "Caribbean experience" or else you may find yourself getting stressed/agitated very easily, very quickly.
There will soon be a new terminal dedicated to international flight only, which will enhance the experience, so enjoy the chaos while you can

Well.... We used the lounge on the 12th feb and it was very good and worth the money we paid.
Although the terminal was very busy it only took us about 25 mins from arrival at the airport to checking into the lounge.
New terminal coming along nicely.

I feel cheated!
Lounge access was included in the price of our tickets; however, I'm pleased by the increase in speed of airport transit and the fact that you enjoyed the lounge.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for our next visit to Antigua.
