Extra Legroom Seats A330

Hi, I have been browsing this excellent site for several months and would like to ask a question if I may.....

My partner, myself and three older children (all over 18) are booked on VS027 in Economy and returning on VS028 in PE, in June. We have been thinking about extra legroom seats for the outbound flight, however, this is showing as an A330 and I understand from a previous thread that these seats only come in two's? Is it possible to book only two of us (the oldies) for extra legroom, or does it have to be the whole booking, as we don't want anyone sitting on their own. ?|

I flew back from DXB on Sunday on the A330 and the extra leg room seats were rows of two, 51A&C to 56A&C & 51H&K to 56H7k. Towards the back of the plane there a some standard rows of three in the middle which might suit the children. So I wouldn't think it would be a problem to purchase just two extra legroom seats for your party of five. They were charging £30 each for the seats. We purchased the emergency exit row for £60 for one and the other was free. I hope that helps.

Hi

What seats are classed as the Economy Exit Seats on the A330 (3 class)? Are the seats in A and K blocked by the door and therefore not worth paying extra for?

Thanks

Scottie.

Row 50AC & 50HK are the emergency exit seats on the A330. The Exit door sticks out a little in A & K, but I found it made an ideal footrest. There is no charge for these seats because of the protruding door, you only pay for C & H which was £60 back from DXB but I believe the charge is £75 for longer haul flights.

Thank you for your response Daffodil. I did notice that there were some rows of 3 at the back of the plane, although won't be able to select anything until March. I think i'll give VS a call to see if I am able to book just two seats in extra legroom and we'll have to get in quick for the others as soon as the seatmap opens up. I thought i'd have a look to see the PE upgrade price for the outbound, but they want £503 for one leg when we only paid £701 returning in PE in the first place. Doesn't really seem worth it..... :?
