Hi

I have booked to go to Dubai later this year with Virgin Holidays unfortunately we have been limited to flying economy. Over time I have been able to collect 100,000 flying club miles, can I use these to upgrade or is this not possible with a VH booking? ?|

Many Thanks

"Not possible" is the answer, I'm afraid. All changes, upgrades etc have to be done via VH and they deal only in cold, hard, cash....

Paul is quite right that VH are effectively a separate travel agent and the only ones that can upgrade for "cold, hard, cash..." - ha ha ha love it :P

Although, at T-24 the booking becomes the problem of VS check-in staff so if you have some miles to burn give it a pop at the airport... They can only say no.. or hopefully yes y)

Remember there will be some cash needed to pay the diff in surcharges and taxes 8D

I had a feeling that was the case.

Never mind I'll just have to find another way to spend the miles.

Two Economy tickets somewhere and then upgrade to UCS? Granted the Economy tickets aren't the cheapest, but given the tax weighting it works quite well. With a rough idea of dates and destinations, you can then ring the UC line and they'll talk you through the options. Routes with regular business flights such as NYC and LA are quite good bets...
