Shall we?

We're in PE from Man to Las in April. The cost of upgrading to UC on the outbound leg is £700 each. We're debating whether to take the upgrade but Mrs QH is undecided. Much as she loves UC and even though £700 is a decent price when judged by usual UC fares, it's still a chunky wad of cash to us.
It's an entirely subjective thing of course, but if it were solely my decision, I'd take it.
Any vflyers feel they can support me and help persuade Mrs QH to upgrade? ii)

Risky strategy, but you could tell her you understand her concerns and the need to be cautious with money, so you've only ungraded your ticket? ): :D

Preferably from a very long way away.

£1400 one-way is lot of cash and to be honest, I could find a lot better things to spend it on.

Fully agree and would rather spend it in Vegas truth be told . And of course you never know what might happen before now and then .

Hate to rain on the UC parade but I am with Mrs QH and the estimable Darren on this.

I can think of myriad things on which to better spend the money and if, as you say, "it's still a chunky wad of cash to us" so should you be able to as well! So stick with PE..there is only so much fizz you can drink, after all!!!

I vote that you save the cash. UC is nice, but if you have to think twice about it and you're leaning towards no then it's best not to.

In the interest of balance here.....
I would take it. If your a gambler and play the table games £700 could last you a day if your unlucky. Your are in the air for a long time on the flight to Vegas, that's a lot of time to be able to lay flat :D :D

It all comes down to whether you think it's good value or not. If you think it is then go for it, if not, then like others have said enjoy the flight and spend it on something else in Vegas. That would get a very few nice meals in some great restaurants (that is for Mrs HQ :P )

I am new to this whole UC thing (6 or 7 flights now) and although I think it is worth every penny on the west to east flights (with the exception of the Miami CH!) I am debating keeping it up on the east to west flights. My flights are usually day flights east to west so I'd be awake anyway and a nice PE seat would suffice. With the west to east flights and a full night of sleep, jet lag seems a thing of the past.
All in all it depends what you like best about the UC experiance. I'll have to look back over some previous posts and see if there is a Top 10 of what we like about UC and what is most important. Me? I'm all about the LHR CH, Revivals and a bed on the west to east flight! The bar is an added bonus too.... y)
