ive just come of the phone to va
to book my next flight, using miles ?
they have found a problem with my miles and have taken all of them out of my account.100,000 miles
they say that they forgot to do it last time i flew with them!!!.back in july ?
can they do this .???
help!!!!

If you did book a miles flight, and they did forget to take the miles at the time - I would say yes they can!

As Sarastro has said, if you booked a miles flight and they didn't take the miles (it can happen) then surely you must have realised this has happened and then I would imagine they are well within their rights to do so.

If however you think what they are saying is incorrect or you can prove they did take the miles, then you should speak to them.

A bit unusual though. Virtually the moment I book a reward flight the miles due appear as a negative entry in my account.

I have to agree with pjh here.
Every reward flight I have booked they appear almost instantly as a debit in my account.
I can just echo what others have said. If you did take a flight and a mistake was made you must have known VS may find out.
Trying to understand from your post if you think there has been a mistake and VS are trying to "double dip" from your account or because VS forgot to take then you should be able to take another flight for free as such.
Good luck with that last one. They only have to pull up the transaction history to double check.

I know of situations when miles haven't been deducted from an account, and it has never been picked up on.

It is a bit like a situation I have just had. Booked an L fare back in October, eventually upgraded the outbound to PE on 24th December, miles deducted from my FC account, MMB shows as PE but the extra taxes I had to pay hadn't been charged to my card. Knowing that it is an error, when speaking to VS last week to book some more flights I mentioned it and they had forgotten to pass it over to ticketing to charge and reissue the eticket. I know from previous experience that it would have caused a problem on the day and wouldn't have allowed my to do OLCI, so best to 'own up' to the error rather than hope they forget about it.

Why not look at buying an upgradable M fare and upgrading both legs with miles to UC?

Good chance it will work out similar cost to a one way full miles fare and a one way standard Y or PE ticket using the combo fares.

I was going to suggest using the fix to display more of your FC Trasanction history do you could check your record yourself ( if someone can find the 'how to' instructions) but it looks like you've resolved your issue with VS.

On the 'your account summary' page ... Click 'update', the URL will change, and then in the URL, change the statementselection= bit to 'statementSelection=5'
