In the latest email from Heathrow it seems that once the new Terminal 2 is complete Aer Lingus and consequently the domestic VS flights will move to T2. T2 will also be the new home for the Star Alliance members.

Dug around on the Heathrow website and found this, don't know if it has been referenced before but here it is:

Huh, looks nice.... although I cannot seem to locate the battle bridge in case of terminal separation or attack :P

Seems ironic that any VS flights should be in with *A given that the chances of them joining are virtually nil.

Agree, I am sure the only reason is the Wet Lease with Aer Lingus.

The reason is that T2 was designed for domestic flights for BMI, T3 has no easy way of putting in a domestic facility. Having said that, if VS want to help pay for it, a way could be found.

It is so depressing that when Heathrow Ltd announced their spending for 2014-2019, not a penny will be spent on T3. As if it wasn't grimy enough!

Another five years of no investment will just about ruin what's left.

Why spend more money on T3? It's had millions spent on it quite recently and it's not many more years before it will be flattened.
