LGW-MCO UC seats

Hello all! Thanks for the (years!) of help you've given me whilst I lurk in these forums - I've finally registered :)

I have just reserved my seats for my upcoming flight and wanted to check they're what others would recommend for this route. It's my first time flying UC, although I travel normally twice a year with VS - nearly always to MCO, and normally always in PE.

My wife and I want to be close together so I've put us at the very nose facing each other (is that better than side by side?) and my mother (who's somewhat unsteady on her feet and nervous) opposite but one so she can talk to us both.

Have I made the best choice or would you recommend something else?

Thanks all - and I'm grateful for your replies on what must be possibly the most common question ever posted!

I'd say good choice, with the only caveat being that 7A and K are almost close enough for the occupants to play footsie too. Depending how sociable mum is, you might want to move back one row to 7A / K and 8K, or perhaps put mum in 6K.

Just be aware that you don't have overhead lockers for those seats immediately above your seat - if you understand what I mean !

Keep them as they are!

Perfect and nothing beats being in Row 6 on the 747.

I'd normally say row 6 definitely but in your situation 7&8 may work out better for the reasons already mentioned

I always reserve 6a & 6k as these are great for couples and close enough to lean over and talk to each other! I think booking these ones were a great choice! I'm looking to reserve those seats for my September flight to MCO! Is it still the 90 day rule!?

Yes great choice for your situation. Must say I don't find UC 'couple friendly' at all! Would be nice if you could lower the wall if you wanted. Although Hubby did say it was the best flight he had as I couldn't chit chat the entire 9 hours.....

Looks good to me but rememember there are no overhead compartments above the front suites.

The lack of overhead bins is not a problem in my experience.
Only one row of seats so plenty of room with one (shortened) row of bins.
There is also a cupboard at the rear of the cabin (often easier as you don't have to lift)
