LHR T1 arriving and departing

So have booked the first VS departure from EDI down to LHR and the next flight back up again arriving into LHR 8.10 am and departing again 9.05am.
I am assuming I will have boarding passes for both flights at the beginning of flight from EDI so what is the best way to do ?
Do I just arrive and then walk back through security to the same gate ?|
Thanks as always for your wisdom.
David

No need for security if staying within T1 domestic. You might need to go through flight connections but then back to the gate.

If you have a boarding pass for the return flight, you won't even need to leave the departure gate area.
Just get off the flight, sit down and wait for the return flight to start boarding again. It's probably even the same A/C you arrived on going back to EDI.

But don't they have those glass walls to separate arriving and departing passengers in T1? They do in the area where the ROI flights go

Not for domestic flights departure lounge area, well they didn't last time I went through T1, which was a year or so ago now.

According to the LHR website you follow the signs to flight connections and simply end up in the departure lounge - no security to go through either.

when I flew LHR - EDI on BMI, you went through a second security checkpoint from the main departure lounge, into the BMI gates/boarding area

In T1 domestic you exit into the departure area and as Mitchja says you should be able to wait there for the return flight. There is a second ID check coming from the common shopping and restaurant area shared with T1international when there is a biometric type photo comparison with a photo taken before the first security clearance. I'm not sure what the purpose of this is but I don't think it is necessary to validate boarding. As always, I stand to be corrected.
Enjoy your flight

The photo is taken so you dont swap your ticket with an international passenger. A computer uses facial recognition to let you back to domestic in T1 or if in T5, allows you to board your flight.

Ah - I understand. Its to stop a third party avoid immigration. Quite a good system actually. Pity about the occasional very long queues for evening flights.

Is there conformance at T1? I don't think there is, but it would trip you up if it did happen.

Nope, just T5 at Heathrow. Due to its size/satelights.
