Still holding at 75 miles I'm afraid, so no road trips

They can go further, but it does cost extra and the amount depends on the country. If you are looking to go outside the 75mile limit give VS a call and figure out the cost - who knows may be cheaper than any onward travel.

When I had a limo transfer there were two of us and we were allowed 75miles each so we didn't have to pay extra. I don't know if this is still the case - and perhaps you are on your own anyway ! !

If there are two passengers with qualifying tickets it's possible to use 1 car and pool the mileage to 150 complimentary.

That policy written somewhere? Just for future reference.
I have had a gander through the T&Cs but couldn't find it mentioned, just says a couple of times within the 75 mile radius of the airport in question - kinda handy to know actually. y)

This would be fantastic if it is true!

I think it is driven miles rather than radius in the UK. That can make quite a difference, and not in a good way.

I have never used DTCI, I live so close and pass by Heathrow so often it has just never appeared worth it, however keen to try it at some point. Presumably if one passenger has booked they will also carry other family members? Do they need CDC qualifying tickets or is it OK to be in same class? -- In fact do they actually have to be in same class?
Lastly max amount of passengers -- 3 or 4?
Thanks John

all pax have to have qualifying tickets as far as i know.
The mile pooling thing isn't written down anywhere i've seen but it's definately available - a collegue & myself were offered this option a couple of months ago when our connecting flight to manchester was cancelled. unfortunately it still didn't stretch quite far enough on that occasion

All I can see in t&c is the following..
'Can I take other passengers in the car with me?
Yes, you can take up to two other people travelling to/from the same airport to/from the same address, up to the capacity of the car as long as all your luggage fits safely in the boot.'
And
'Cars are normally able to carry a maximum of three passengers with a maximum of three large suitcases. See the Special Requests section below if you need a larger car.'

Lol, so when you get to 75 miles on the dash they kick you out? or do they whip out a meter I wonder

It's a 75 miles radius from the airport you're travelling from/to (pooled if there 2 passengers with qualifying tickets to 150 miles) - anything over that will be known about at the time you book the transfer, and the excess amount will be advised to you. You'd pay the driver by cash or card for the excess.
I can't actually see it written publicly regarding the pooling of miles, but it is an option.
Upper Class Passengers can also take someone travelling with them in Premium or Economy in the same car, but obviously times will need to be adjusted accordingly to meet check-in cut off for those passengers.

The
website states driven miles....
'Flights to/from Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester
Any mainland UK destination within 75 driven miles
For passengers connecting onto a Virgin Atlantic flight via Heathrow and Gatwick from any UK regional airport, 75 driven miles also applies to and from the departing/arriving airport.'
Another website gremlin?

I think it may be just the way it's been worded on the website, as the system used calculates the distance 'as the crow flies' to/from the airports in those locations where there is a limit (as far as I'm aware, anyway!).

Worth knowing - if I could ever afford a qualifying fare I'd test it out as we live within a 75 mile radius of Heathrow but over 75 driven miles away.
Some airlines do make a clear distinction. Emirates operate radius in some countries, and driven miles in others.

And this is why I miss the R fare... most of the time it wasn't that much more expensive than a Z and if heavy transfers on all sides always worked out cheaper in the long run.
Still worth knowing though in case you fancy paying for the 'exclusivity' of the Guest List or donating 17500 miles for the honour. 8D

You can also now just book a cash car using Tristar if you're travelling on a Z or G, via the Upper Class team..

Huh. Didn't know that one.
Do you earn miles with the booking? Is it cheaper than booking with them direct?
Lol a true v-flyer to be asking those questions aren't I ... Only missed out, is there booze on board..

Without them simply transferring you to Tristar? ii)
Looking at discount potential here slinky.
My current company uses them and, whilst a good ride to the airport, their pre and post service is a little sporadic, esp their acc management!! I get the feeling we are going to be instructed to no longer use them pretty soon... Shame.
