Inconsistency again!

Once I get chance I will write up trip reports however recent flights to Havana and back were very different experiences. Outbound was fantastic with a brilliant crew and FSM whilst return the crew just went through the motions whilst pleasant enough and the FSM was only visible when doing wine service during the meal.

Barbella already showing signs of wear and industrial gaffa tape was required to hold the screen in place to stop it swinging backwards and forwards.

Also noticed on both flights that PE share the UC toilets. Is this new? I've never noticed it before.

Is it inconsistency though, or just the difference between a day flight service and a night flight service? Because as far as I know a night flight service usually involves getting everyone fed and watered and then trying to let them sleep.

I look forward to your trip reports though!

Would say yes SRH..... FSM should be darting about the place keeping the crew alert to pax needs should they not wish to get some shuteye, keeps the crew working and not hiding in the galley chatting too - boss is about, look busy :P

Although to the OP I have in the past found FSMs helping out in other cabins if they need it and only popping into UC to serve wine, say a quick hello then back to the grindstone... then again, have also seen FSMs propped up asleep against a door, hiding in the former beauty areas, or sitting at the bar reading the Sun... look forward to reading the TRs to find out which this one was doing :P

No excuse for the gaffa tape on the IFE monitor ?| ?| though.

I quite like the way that different FSMs impose their own style and personality on service. The spice of life, and all that.

So inconsistency strikes me as a bit of a red herring. I don't mind inconsistency as such. I do mind someone who can't be bothered to muster their team and get the best out of them.
