VS006 - April 3rd - availability

Hubbs and I are booked tomorrow (April 3rd) PE, MIA - LHR. I have been calling everyday for 3 weeks to get a mileage seat for Hubby and I into UC but so far no luck. I did a quick search and I could book 7 UC seats on this flight. Does that mean there are 7 seats left? If so should I be calling hourly to see if a mileage upgrade comes up or every 4 hours, or not until tomorrow? Can it really be done at the airport? Any tricks to this? Any help appreciated. Not sure i can go back to PE now I have tasted UC - that doesn't make me a bad person does it? :0
On a positive note I did just manage to upgrade the return trip which has not been available for 3 weeks! (I have 2 CH passes up for grabs if anyone is there on the 14th)

I'd leave it to the airport. If they've still got UC seats available, that's where they'll try and fill them.

Flightstats is showing 6 available seats in UC but it doesn't always appear to be accurate.

Just because you can book 7 seats or that flightstats show that 6 seats are available, it doesn't necessarily follow that those 6/7 seats are empty given that airlines routinely overbook because of no-shows. I have been on flights which have indicated that there is good availability in UC but on the day the cabin has been full.

Your best bet is to try at the airport. Good luck with it. :)

And just because seats are available does not automatically mean that VS will allow upgrades (paid or miles) into them.

I was on a flight where UC was only 1/3 full on a 747. And once a V-flyer was the only person in UC on a LGW Config 747 - and I;m sure people would have asked about upgrades and been told no.

That said asking at the airport won't hurt but I'd go to the ticket desk to ask rather than the check-in desks.

Thanks for all the tips and advice, I'll keep you all posted as to what happens. This flight is jammed - there are no seats available in any other class......
Off to do the 'get a mileage upgrade to UC' dance - and a lot of positive vibes!

Decided to wait until we get to the airport - as of 2 hours ago there was still availability in UC, although that 'don't mean nout'
Was hoping to get to airport early but cab is running late.....Miami traffic - ho, hum!
