First time turning left where should we sit?

I have been reading this forum for some time and learned plenty but this is my first post. Long story which I will try to keep short

Myself, Mrs Paps and Little Nell (22) have been regular VA flyers, at first in economy but last few trips PE. On 19th July we fly VS19 to SFO,booked PE, tried to upgrade with miles to UC but not upgradeable seats. Then VA offered cash upgrade to UC for £300 each outbound (nothing avalable on return so PE coming home from LAX). Grabbed the bargain and now looking forward to CH and turning left on boarding. Have looked at seat maps etc but cannot decide which would be best for the 3 of us. We don't all have to sit together but close by would be good. Would be grateful for advice from forum members who know about these things.

Thanks in advance

Paps.

If it's a 747, the favoured UC seats among V-Flyers are in the nose, or failing that the upper deck. Both only 2 across and feel nice and private.

If it's an Airbus A340-600, I'd go for 3/4/5/6K or 9/10/11/12A - they don't face anyone and aren't too near toilets, galleys or the bar.

VS19 is pretty much a cert for a 747, so my recommendation would be 12A,12K and 14Aor K. Any further back in the A zone go for all A or all K. Try for the A zone even if split up a bit.

Edited to change row number to one that exists...

More than likely the OP called VS before the flight to find out about upgrades and their call coincided with an UC sale, where the Z fares were only £300 more expensive than the initially purchased H or K class PE tickets.

I have the same return route / aircraft twice over the next month or so and have pre-selected nose seats for all legs except one and have chosen 21A.

I could have gone with the bubble, but do not feel it provides the same service in terms of inflight catering delivery and also upon exit the lower level seems to me to be better off.

Any thoughts?

taffytorch, its pretty much as joey suggests. we had PE H class , phoned VA ,tried to use miles but ticket was not suitable, was advised that some UC flights were on offer and the upgrade was £312 each. there was option to cancel H tickets, re-book then use miles but this was way to expensive

Thanks all for seat advice, soon be T-90 so will see how it goes

Thanks for all the advice. At T-91 seat map was viewable but nothing else. At 90 days and 8 hours seat map opened . managed to reserve 12 A & K and 14 K . Fingers crossed I've still got them at OLCI
