Earning flying club miles and tier points

Hi folks,

I'm a newbie here, first time flight with VA booked for July to Vancouver upper class. Can't wait for the holiday or the flight! I joined flying club after booking the flight, there are 2 of us travelling and my question is about the miles and tier points available to be earned.

The info at the time I booked said how many miles and TP were available per adult. Do we both need to have flying club accounts to collect these, or will miles and TP for both be credited to my account? I'm already thinking ahead to next year's holiday plans and how to build up miles that I can use later, and since I'm the one who makes all the arrangements for us and generally signs up for any loyalty schemes, (I have taken out a Virgin credit card to build up miles) I'm wanting to know how to capitalise on collecting miles.

Any advice welcomed gratefully.
Cheers,
Bretty

Welcome to v- flyer. :) .
Both of you will need to have a FC account in order to earn miles and TP. I would suggest you make a referral for her via the Miles MoreFriends link in your FC account ( you'll find it on the left hand side when you log into your FC account).

Having collected them, begin to think about an approach to spending them. I think you can link FC accounts so that you can be nominated to spend your partner's miles, so you can still be the one to make the arrangements, but there are rules about the usage pattern.

Do a search for 'spending miles' and you'll find a wealth of information on the best strategy and tactics in this regard.
