Has anyone used the upgrade vouchers you get at 80 tier points yet? How flexible are they, do you have to use both returns on the same journey or can you break them up?

Have not reached those dizzying heights as of yet. ii)

If it helps they are quite flexible with the amex upgrade vouchers, in that you can use one voucher to upgrade two people one way. The only thing they don't allow is leaving part vouchers on file....

Using one return on one journey and the other on another should be fine. 8D

Do they post them to you or are they electronic ?
I passed this a while back but no one has mentioned it to me !!

It gets issued on renewal of your membership - not at the point you hit 80TPs. You'll then see it appear in your account for use within the next year.

Rather dumb question here... If you get the upgrade voucher for achieving 80 points, is there any rules around its use???

So for example if I booked two PE tickets, and wanted to upgrade to UC, would I need to have booked the original tickets in a certain ticket class? I know for normal point upgrades FC have very fixed rules around the ticket classes you can upgrade from!

Nope - it's from any fare

(Of course, there are a few extreme cases which are treated as exceptions, but in general, any fare is valid for the 80TP upgrade)

I'm now sitting on 78 tier points and will go over the 80 on my Annual Vegas trip in a couple of weeks just in time for my flying club year ending at the end of the month. I'll be looking to use the voucher in June so will find out how flexible it is then!

I used my upgrades last November and found VS to be very flexible.....especially as I was the first person (by all accounts) to ask about applying the upgrade which is hard to believe but it was all pretty straightforward.

The voucher is only available on your FC renewal date.

My renewal date is 31st May (I'll be at 84 tier points then) so I'm hoping I'll be able to book on 1st June.....

Can you use the vouchers on reward tickets as well as paid tickets? So if I used my miles for two PE tickets could I use it to upgrade it to UC?
