We have booked a holiday with Virgin to Grenada next March, but would like to upgrade our PE seats to upper class. Is this possible with our air miles? ?|

The fares you are booked in when booking a holiday package via a travel agent or Virgin Holidays are not able to be upgraded using miles sorry.

So there is no way, even waiting until we get to the airport? I did check that we couldn't even book the flight, although we have enough airmiles, before we booked with virgin Holidays. I remember trying to spend airmiles before & finding it very difficult, how is the best way to use them?

V Holidays sell very discounted tickets hence why they are not upgradable with miles. VH also sell their holidays even before VS have released the flights to general sale (11 months in advance) so perhaps the reason you couldn't book direct with VS was because the seats hadn't been released for sale / reward bookings?

However you can ask at the airport as the rules appear to get a little more relaxed once there so it's always worth asking but you won't be able to do it before then.

As to spending FC miles - this can only be done via the VS website (or phoning them). The trick is to be flexible on travel dates and to check regularly - some people check daily (and a few of them even more often!) - and once you seen them to book immediately as other people will be looking for them as well.
