I am making first trip to Chicago later this month, can anyone recommend a good (4 or 5 star) centrally positioned hotel.

Feedback appreciated

Thank you

On my last trip I stayed at the Allegro part of the Kimpton group.

Nice and central.

Sign up for their loyalty programme and get free wi-fi access and other extras.

Not as central as the Allegro, but well located anyway: Sofitel Water Tower.

In 2010 stayed at The Conrad on North Rush Street. We found it to be top class . One block from Michigan Avenue (The Magnificent Mile) Very close to major tourist attractions and a pleasant 10 minute stoll to harbour area. Its part of Hilton Group, we have a Hilton Honors Card and although not a frequent user got upgrade to city view superior room (then transferred points to flying club account)

I would highly recommend The James and it's associated restaurant; David Burke's Primehouse (55-Day Aged Rib Eye, Bone-In 20 oz, oh yes!). Don't anticipate being able to consume the dessert unless you are accompanied by a lady friend .....

Have you got an Amex Platinum card? There are sometimes some good free night offers at the Trump, Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton.

Many thanks all for the feedback. Only just realised that there is am Omni hotel in Chicago, as a member of their Select Guest scheme I qualify for a few extras, price seems very reasonable, has anyone stayed at the Omni Chicago?

Thank you
