Cowshed & disabled CH access questions

Hi everyone.

Mrs RD and I are traveling UC LGW-MCO on Tuesday, and she's keen to get in as many treatments as possible in the lounge naturally! It's our first forage into UC.

Is there a good plan of attack for this? The flight is 13:00 ish from memory, so I think she's hoping I'll be keen enough to get there for the crack of 07:00 or whenever it opens, mad that she thinks I must be...

Also, we are traveling with a wheelchair bound disabled parent. Special assistance is already on the case for the terminals, but is there anything I should know about getting to the lounge or "getting about" issues? Last year we went PE and were left in a special "disabled area" with others with wheelchairs etc - whilst this is down to the airport naturally I'd like said parent to enjoy everything on offer with UC.

Thanks for the help!

Theres only a couple of treatments that are free, and you are allowed one . Anything more, you have to pay for

Paying isn't the issue - I think Mrs RD's purse is prepared! Simply that I heard grapevine rumours that the availability is the issue, and to get their early. Is she panicking thinking 7am is a good idea, or do I get a few extra hours in bed?

7am is a tad early for a 1pm flight - as lovely as the CH is, at the end of the day it's still just an airport lounge and personally I'd prefer another couple of hours in bed ahead of a 9 hour flight! And to be honest the LGW CH, while very pleasant and friendly, doesn't have as much to keep you occupied as the LHR one so 5+ hours in it would be a struggle for me.

I'd say get there for 8.30. From memory it gets pretty busy from about 9, but the second MCO flight is one of, if not the last to go so although it may be scarily hectic when you arrive it'll empty out nicely.

The LGW spa isn't huge but once it empties out after 11 availability should be a lot better. So have some breakfast first.

Disabled access isn't an issue - it's on the 1st floor but you have to get up there anyway to go through security and there are plenty of lifts, and once you're in everything's on the same level.

gumshoe thanks basically what I wanted to hear in a nutshell - thank you :)

We'll aim for 8:00 - 8:30 then. As you say, we're on a later flight out so it should empty a bit after the other flights leave.

Thanks again. Perfect!
