Hmmm. It's still only weeks old.
And 27% connecting traffic is business that would have gone to BA.
And is that based on through fares? What about me and my Wick - Edi flight that I booked separately? As I am sure peeps have booked onward flights separately.

So point to Point bookings are stronger than connecting.. Surely that is a good thing since the connecting flights are mainly given for free and the PTP flights are being charged normal rates?
Seems like a non story to me and more of a PR push to highlight the new services to the public. :0

like they say it's in it's infancy and me personally when I book my holiday if i need a connecting flight i book it separately in advance too, so long haul holidays people book especially heathrow route's would be booked in advance so maybe that the option was not available at the time that people at the moment had that option at the time they booked so maybe in the coming month's it will improve even more

Would be a strange PR decision to highlight the negative.

Way too early for "stories" like this - surely?
I trust VS have performance indicators that will tell them, at the right time, whether LR is a benefit to the company or not.

I'd say that's very good news and the thread title is misleading or rather the BT article is erroneous. It's just eight weeks since the first flight and many people, I should think, book their long haul trips way in advance of that. So to achieve 27% within the first eight weeks sounds like a great success.

I agree with Slinky and Concorde - far to early to make a judgement.
Transfer Traffic will pick up during the summer and the figures will no doubt be very different in six months and will look even more different next year.
Do the figures count people who have flown EDI-LHR who then transger to LGW to take an onward VS fligth from there as 'transfer' or just as a point-to-point jourley to London?
Am sure VS will have the figures for those.
In defence of the OP the thread title is the same as the BT article but in general it is a poor piece of 'journalism'
