Waving from across the pond

Good day v-flyers,

Currently comfortably ensconced in the JFK CH feeding my caffeine addiction and about to partake in some of their fantastic food.

Did manage to snag a mileage upgrade this leg of the trip as well and moved onto the VS4 which is fast becoming my favourite flight back to blighty - especially when on an A346 ):

Quick question for those that have been through JFK recently, what do people think of the new security checkpoint at the top of the stairs? So far it has been a bit of a pain for me with passengers for all gates being funnelled into the same channels. Hopefully that will change soon as they (and I) get used to the new layout.... On the other hand perhaps that is wishful thinking ;)

Must dash, my salmon rillette has just arrived, have a good week all 8D

I went through on Monday - I quite like the changes. No need to carry your luggage to the screening agent, a common security checkpoint and then you can explore the entire airside area (new Delta expansion included).

As you say, it is all still very new so probably best to judge in a couple of months. I tried Marcus Samuelsson's offering and it was so new that the steak and shrimp hadn't even been delivered yet.

I had a great experience last night. Very quick and much less fuss. I did go through later at about 1945 as was on the 10. Personally thought it was an improvement though will see what it's like next month when I'm on the earlier VS46!

Not going to be missing our social on Thursday are ya David??

Hope ya have a good'un down in Orlando, raining and miserable here n( Good news is the JFK CH is nearly empty and service is brilliant. Supposed to be busy flights ahead but looks like people are delayed in traffic. :D more red wine for me.

The 46 is a good'un if you are in UC in the nose section. It is really quiet and you should be easily able to get some shuteye.

I switched onto the VS4 to get back to LHR at a better time. Traffic wise heading into London during rush hour - will be spending some time in revivals - is a nightmare.

I do like the staff here, the space on the other hand..... I am still a fan of the last one. Very open and afforded us the opportunity of people watching and counting how many birds fly passed :P

I have come to the conclusion that either I am a hilarious drunk or the staff here are bored.... They keep coming to fill my glass up..... This story better not end with me in the back of a windowless van :P :P

Haha! Enjoy and have one for me! I like the VS46 for the 744 - I have 19A reserved again :) Only problem I find is that the 46 often sees the most delays given the traffic at JFK. I will have to try the VS4 in the future.

Enjoy & Cheers!
