Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants in Holetown area? I tried to book Tides but they will unfortunately be closed for refurb at time of our visit (w/c 17th June)Looking for something pretty upscale as part of my sons 21st birthday celebration and ideally within walking or short taxi ride of Lexy's Piano bar on 2nd St in Holetown where the celebration will continue.

Any assistance appreciated.

http://www.thecliffbarbados.com - quite possibly nowhere near where you want it to be but in my humble opinion the best place on the island - book well in advance though - Table 44 if there are only 4 of you sometime in the future.

Had a couple of meals at The Cliff and it is very good indeed. I like Scarlets though more of a cocktail bar, the food is very good....Baxters road chicken comes to mind..... oo) the staff are super friendly, it's a hot spot with the stars....seen Sir Cliff and Cilla Black in there for a birthday celebration and its only a short taxi ride away in Paynes Bay.

I also like Mullins restaurant but have only being there for lunch and Zaccios in Holetown which doesn't fit your high end requirement but good all the same for lunch and afternoon drinks.

Daphne's is also good....I particularly like their happy hours!!!!! :0

Hope that helps.

I love Scarlets too :D .Fantastic Mojito's ( and the food's not too shabby either ): ): ) but for a special occasion I'd vote for The Cliff.

We are also in Barbados the same time as oldboy, also in the same hotel, also celebrating - me getting a bus pass! Do you think it likely we'd get a reservation at the Cliff this late? I have emailed them to ask, but my birthday is. A Saturday and I imagine that's a busy evening.

If not, then we'll try one of the others you've recommended, so thanks from me too!

Hi Gilly

We have decided to go for Daphne's as it is close to Lexy's, had dinner there last year & was a little disappointed but as it has such good reviews maybe we just struck unlucky.

Look forward to meeting you in a couple of weeks.
