When exactly do you become Gold?

If you complete a flight taking you up to the magic 40 tier points, what are the chances of being able to use revivals when you land (assume flight was not in upper).
Suspect I know the answer here but wondered if anyone had tried this on.
Many thanks!

You become Au on the 40th TP being earned... So, technically speaking the revivals lounge would not be accessible on that Gold earning trip as the trip would not be over yet ii)
The revivals staff are really nice though, so I would say pop along and ask - you never know they may say yes as a welcome to AU gesture, upon checking to make sure you are not trying it on of course, ha

The TP only become active when posted to your account which could be several days after the flight (or several weeks if flying with a VS partner).
I also agree that revivals staff are excellent - however, if it were me I would wait until next time to use the lounge as it might be rather 'awkward' to be turned away.

Plus, I've found that lounge staff (clubhouse and revivals) generally ask to see your Gold card for access, when not in Upper.
This is unlike BA who usually go by the ticket and their system for F lounge in T5, in my experience.

Personally I would try Revivals .... I do not think being turned away would be too awkward.
As said above the staff are very helpful and be surprised if there is an issue.

Thanks all.
I have used Revivals numerous times legitimately, but this would be my first time as a (hopeful) AU benefit. As its for the 04:50 from HKG hopefully it would be quiet and they may take pitty. I would be quite prepared for them to say no.

If you are on the HKG flight you will likely have the place to yourself so I would say the chance is extremely high.
If it was peak time for US flights arriving (9-12) then it can get a bit full.

You could contact the Premier Team at VS and ask them for a letter - this has been done before - they might do that and say that you'll become Au on completion of the flight. You'll probably need your BP to confirm that.
