Partnership with US Airways terminated

I noticed today that the FF partnership with US Airways has been terminated as of 11th June.
Inevitable given US joining OneWorld (eventually) and the JV with DL - although there is no FF with DL in place so earning/redeeming options are significantly limited now within the USA.

Losing the CO and now US partnerships leaves a big hole so it seems like a given that the DL deal will go through.

According to US media reports, approval for codeshare will be given this Thursday, by the DoT, so I don't imagine there will be too long a wait. My work for one, is more relevant to the North East coast, and Delta having an increasingly large hub at JFK will make a big difference.

Doesn't the EU need to approve as well? Hope it's ASAP. Got at least 3 Nashville I'd love to be able to VS over Atlantic and transfer. Would be a gold easily in 2013 given all would be PE ( with my Mumbai trips) once the US transfer situation improves!

Yes the EU needs to approve and it's decision is also due very shortly (there is another thread on the VS-DL JV).

But even is the JV is approved it won't be implemented over night.
