Just looking to book flights to MCO using miles plus money for this week.

Why is it that if I book one seat it's £681 but if I want two seats then its £776 each, same flight same time just different number of passengers :(

So does that mean that if I book two separate seats they may be miles away from each other. But if I book two together they will be in the same section. Am I being thick is that what it means. If so if we both turned up together, would we not be sat together where possible anyway ??

It means that there may only be one seat left in the fare code that is giving you the lower price, so when you search for 2 tickets, it prices them both on the next fare code up, rather than 1 at the lower fare and one at the higher fare.

It has absolutely nothing to do with where you will end up sitting, so you can book two separate reservations and then get VS to link the bookings. You will still able to select seats next to each other providing their are seats free to do enable this.

fare buckets are not related to seat requests or which part of the cabin you are sat in.

The other thing is that, being a Sunday, others may have been searching the same flights which would have put a hold on that bucket for 20 minutes and thus distorting other searches around that time. I can remember searching UC flights on a Sunday to MCO and the lowest bucket was D. The following day a whole raft of Zs showed up. You may find the same for the fares in the cabin you were seeking today if you look tomorrow.

It means that there is one seat left at £776.

When you enter two or more passengers systems aren't sophisticated enough to pick "the last fare".

Also, you could actually have a passenger at the payment screen (note that along the process Virgin allows 20 minutes so that booking class will be unavailable if it's the last seats.)
