Hi everyone and what a fantastic forum this is, a real wealth of information :)
I am a brand new member and really need your extensive knowledge to help me please
I am looking at booking return flights for myself and my wife from London Heathrow to New York JFK in mid December in Upper Class and was really after help in trying to understand the lowest cost options for doing this with regards to using miles etc.

I have saved 84000 miles and also have a companion flight reward from spending lots on my virgin atlantic credit card

What would peoples reccomendations be on the lowest cost options for booking flights please, what sort of costs have people seen if they have booked these same flights themselves ????

Thanks in advance for all your help :)

Hi and welcome.

The cheapest option using miles would be a M economy fare upgraded with 40k per miles each to a G upper class fare.
You can find out the price of an M fare by either searching on this page on the VS site, or by giving them a call. Don't forget that on top of the M fare, you will have to pay the UC taxes, which will probably be another £100 or so each, although VS will confirm that.

The important thing to ensure is that there are Upper class reward seats on the dates you want, just because there are UC seats for sale, doesn't mean you can use miles for them all. You can check reward availability by doing a dummy miles booking on the VS site or by calling them.

Thanks,
Neil

Search JFK specifically and not new York- always tries to put you on the early morning one otherwise.
