Bye bye Grey Goose Lounge?

It's turning into a pop-up restaurant, will the GGL be back afterwards, or will it revert back to the loft? Or will it stay the GGL in the evenings?

I have been in the fortunate position of using the CH several times and the Grey Goose Lounge has always been deserted. True my visits have been either in the morning or early afternoon so it might have come to life later?
It is in my opinion a handy quiet space, most folks don't "do" stairs, where you can make the odd phone call without annoying fellow travellers. I presume the Mixoligists appear sometime, shame I missed them as Vodka is a particular favourite, in moderation of course! :P
Good luck with the new concept, though it will only be available for a very short period. Look forward to reading reports. :)

My understanding is that it didn't open till 4pm so it would have been deserted during your visits

I think it's great that its not used before 4pm, as it is a very peaceful place to sit in the morning. Much like how the garden/terrace is underused, means its nice for those who do use it :-p (even with the apu's!)

A "quiet space" where people can make phone calls?

Errr... No thanks!

I've been up there when it's been dead, I've also been up there when there's quite the atmosphere. I'm not sure the staffing of it is self-sustaining, but I'd much rather it was a bar than a mobile phone lounge...!

its only open for 2 and half hours over lunch period..so GGL could still be open as normal after 4pm

Just to clarify. I would only use my phone if there was no one else up there, otherwise it will be turned off. (Not even on silent)

I like the idea of a pop-up restaurant going in there, maybe on a 2 month rotation showcase food from VS destinations?

Agreed Paul, problem is it is billed at opening at 4 and I have yet to see the staffer stationed up there appear before 530 .. for that hour and a half you have people trying to settle in to an effectively non staffed part of the CH. Perhaps they realise this and have decided to utilise the space during the day.

A good plan, shame it is only for a week, and a week that I am not travelling through LHR at that :(!

Looking forward to living vicariously through someone who makes a post about the food and service from the lounge 8D

Whilst a really good idea in principal I foresee VS seeing this and commercialising it to the extent that the SkyLoft turns into a VS Holidays Kiosk (It's what I would do :P ).

Personally I would prefer to have some time before a flight without being approached every few minutes trying to convince me to go somewhere else n(

...or trying to get you to sign up to their MBNA credit card while posing as someone who is there to "help you make the most out of your miles".

The lounge shouldn't be a sales-arena. IMHO.

I will really "hic" miss the GGB. I thought that was a very cool place for a good martini.
