We have already pre-booked our seats on the PE main deck (LGW to MCO) but are considering to grab an upper deck PE if possible.
When we did the seat selections 90 days prior to departure date, only a handfull of seats on the upper deck and the last 4 rows on main deck were available.
I guess they blocked off more of the PE upper deck seats and also the first two rows of PE on the main deck. Do you think these blocked seats will be open when I do my online check-in 24 hours prior to my flight? Or will it only be possible to ask for these blocked seats at the airport (3 hours before check-in) or at the twilight check-in?

VS only allows 60% of seats to be pre-requested (not booked) and the rest are released when OLCI opens.

ISTBC but aren't some seats held back for VH customers and then released a few hrs before online checkin opens? That was certainly the case when we flew PE to MCO last year. All of a sudden a whole load of seats became available ? But otherwise yes try to move at checkin.

I am hoping to have more seats available at OLCI as I'm currently requested 2 PE seats in the middle 4 at downstairs LGW 744 from MCO. I much prefer the window 2 seats.
