Why no 'B'?

This has puzzled me for some time, so I thought I'd ask my fellow v flyer folk. Why is there no seat b on the configs. The lack of I makes since as i guess 'l' can often be confused with numbers or Ls ....

Ac defg hk - and for that matter, seat J?

Could B be confused with 8?

There are B's, in economy - they just get removed the higher you go up through the cabins, so in PE its A/C, as the window seat is always A and the aisle seat is always C.

When explained like that its makes perfect sense when I think about it.

But there are B seats (and J) on VS 747s and in economy only.

Ditto BA - and on their A380 as well

Every row in the Little Red fleet of A320s has a B.

Slightly off topic but why is there no "I" seat, ie. it goes HJK...stumbled across the reason here in 11 Things We No Longer See On Planes http://mentalfloss.com/article/51270/11 ... -airplanes

A Seat Assignment in 22I

Or any row with an “I” designation. Watch the seat numbers the next time you’re tripping down the aisle on a wide-bodied plane—they usually run “HJK”. Why no "I"? Blame computers. When airlines started installing computer equipment to handle their reservations and other records, problems were often created when a letter too closely resembled a numeral. Digital Equipment Corporation was the first company to eliminate confusing letters (in automobile VIN numbers, for example, not only the I but also O, Q, and S were nixed) and as a result such an alphanumeric system is now referred to as the DEC Alphabet.

And, in PE on 747 upper deck, there is no DEFG...

I think they remove B as the C seat remains an isle seat, and that would be consistent.

Would recommend row 13 on Little Red, it is one of the exit rows if I remember correctly.
Have been put there a couple of times. Ok unless you want to make a quick "exit" through the front door at Heathrow !
