Just watched CK's first TV interview on the local news down here in the south. Well he certainly doesn't mince his words blaming the government for the airlines predicament mainly in two areas, first the lack of investment (runway building) and secondly APD which he says does more harm than good.

He has ordered a complete review of the company to try to turn around the £90 million by 2015.

Hopefully this will work.

Interesting interview (shame it repeats in the same clip though).

I think issues like a crap website, inconsistent and incompetent customer services and fuel surcharges are more to blame than a perceived lack of airport investment and APD.

And when new runways are approved and the airport owners increase the passenger service fee to pay for it then he better not complain about that as you can't have the former without the latter.

Wow talk about repetitive and un-engaging.... ][|)

APD adressed and he even brought up AMS... ha ha ha. The interviewer should have gone for the jugular and hit on YQ though ):

Agreed on the website front tonty... VS CS has its ups and downs like any company so don't agree with you on that front - they have always been good with me.

A pay freeze for the staff...... always a tough call as it may negate the good service received on the ground and in the skies. I hope that he means management (inc himself) will be taking a freeze too (or perhaps a cut to show they are all in it together..) ii)

Found it quite interesting, he seems personable (which he has to, I suppose) and the website aside (which basically, works) I think we can be incredibly critical of the company at times.
