Good afternoon all,
I have just received an email asking me to take in what is described as a "private online comunity" using a smartphone app before, during and after my flight to SYD in September, and engaging with other VS passengers in a Forum.
I have registered my interest, just waiting to hear back from them.
Anyone else been invited?
Dominic

Hi Dominic, I have been invited a couple of times promising a small financial return for my views and contributions, but it has never come to anything though.
Good luck.

Thanks Jon
They are offering £70 if you are chosen to take part.
A couple of years ago I was invited to a two hour workshop in London about Premium Economy and was given £50 for my time, not bad as I was going to be in the area anyway.
Not sure what impact it had, they were guageing our reactions to several picture cards of the old versus the new PE and all the LHR fleet had already been refitted.

Been invited and registered interest but was not selected for my last longhaul flight. Sounds intriguing though.

I believe it is the new program that replaces the old mystery shoppers - hence why there is probably budget to pay out a little incentive.

I did it in May. I found it quite stressful as they only sent the task out about 2 hours before take off and then wanted photos of yourself, lounge, food, drinks, plane, seats etc. it wasnt enjoyable and I wouldn't do it again. I flew uc.
It is not a community. You just talk to a moderator- not other travellers until the final task which was to review potential menus- about a month after travel then you could see what others had posted- but only about that task. Had to use live minds app when travelling and then a webased site but no dialogue with any other travellers (I was the 1st to fly in my group of about 20 listed users).
It took several hours of my time (post a video as you set off, tell me about the seat to etc)
They never sent the promised cheque!

Thanks for that y)
It doesn't really sound like fun, more like it will ruin my holiday.

Auw.... feeling left out now :#
Would love to take part and let them know how many bottles of whiskey are enough, not to mention feedback on the mushroom filled menus etc...
Think of it as writing a photo filled TR for money, I'd say give it a go Dom y)

Good point about getting paid for writing a TR Joey y)
Joey I think if we ever get on the same flight no amount of Bourbon is going to be enough ):
@gfonk I'll let you know all about it if I'm selected for the survey

Creepy that they know who you are from so little information.... or unbelievable and it simply takes that long to get to your complaint. ii)

I didn't tell them I hadn't got it. This is the only place I mentioned it. I feel slightly stalked!

Lol
I don't think that's the case
I think this forum is a very positive tool for all involved including VS
Well if they listen to and act on the threads
(Within reason in sure they take on board what they read )

I do wonder how they put the pieces together? Did they recognise the username, or have access to other details?

Maybe they just sent the email to everybody who hadn't received their cheques yet?

Agreed, with posting names like mine it is possible to make an educated guess if you have access to the manifest... like yours and gfonk on the other hand ?| ?|
Pete, is this new server we have moved onto sharing space with VS in Cali? ii)

From the wording I don't think so.
