Taxes refund when not flown

As my colleague missed his flight this morning, I found myself at a meeting in Edinburgh on my own! I therefore asked to change my flight to the earlier Little Red service. The agent informed me it would be cheaper to buy a new single ticket so I did.

On the drive home, I was thinking - can I claim a refund of the taxes for the unused portion of the flight? I have done this before when I have not used any of the sectors but wasn't sure if I could this time as this was the return leg of my original booking.

Does anyone know if VS will charge an "admin fee" for this too?

All in all, a pretty unproductive day - less than two hours on the ground in Edinburgh but at least that's another two vital tier points!! 8D

Yes but they charge an admin fee which is probably more than the apd and airport fees on a LR flight.

Ah I thought as much. I will try find out how much this "admin" fee is before I waste time on the phone!

Thanks for your reply :)
