VS23 a343 operational question

so my flight from lax to lhr this wednesday is on an a343 (some of you may have read my previous post on this).

i'm looking at the in-flight entertainment page and noticed one of the A343 (rainbow lady) actually has the VERA on demand system (instead of the horrendous VERA reel aka odyssey).

so my chances are 1 in 4 of getting the VERA on demand system. is anyone here able to use their expertise of virgin operations and gamble, based on current scheduling, which of the 4 A340s i'll get?

if you check the schedule for your flight in the tool box you may be able to detect a pattern in how the planes are allocated.

It's impossible to say, really, because:
a) there's not an obvious pattern to the A343 schedules, at least as far as I can see!
b) I don't think an A343 has flown the 23/24 for a long time, so no history there to learn from.

Having said that, by this time tomorrow it will be possible to narrow it down significantly... :)

i'll check back tomorrow!

I would say at the moment there isn't an obvious route pattern for the 343s
There was last winter season though
As I could predict which 343 would fly the NRT route at least two days in advance.
Let us know which one you get on?

I'm afraid that if you get a 343 today, I think it will be African Queen. Molly is going to ORD; Rainbow Lady is in Accra; Maiden Tokyo is en route back from DXB and doesn't land in time to become the 23.

But maybe they'll switch type? Fingers crossed... :)

Very strange - the 343 that arrived from YVR this afternoon has gone to LAX on VS23.

Looking at the database this is unheard of - the aircraft which operates Tuesdays VS95/96 ALWAYS operates Wednesdays VS95 as well. I can't see a break in that pattern of late except today.

Today, the 343 from Tuesday's VS95 has gone to LAX and, another first (except for the launch), todays VS95 is an A330.

Anyone know whats going on? doesnt look like a tech thing as obviously the 343 that would ordinarily have flown to YVR today was fine.

I'd love to get a 330 on VS95 :0

Wonder if this will ever happen again :P

i would've loved to see the a330. i fly this route about 3 times a year and it's the 2nd time i've seen this anomaly in 5 years. i believe the last time this was also a mid-week flight.

oh well, at least i have my UC reward seat to look forward to. i'll be downloading some iTunes content today!

will let you guys know whether or not they still theI IFE tablets in UC too as people on here were unsure.
