upgrading at the airport

Hi All

If upon flight day i wish to upgrade from EC to PE at check in, would it be any cheaper, as an upgrade at the moment is about £300ish return?
And is availability common place or a long shot?
Flying from Lon Heathrow to new Delhi.

Many thanks
Adam

I'd say £300 return is a very good deal in itself and you'd be pretty unlikely to get a better price at the airport.

You can get an idea of how busy the flight is by doing a load check on Flightstats - that'll tell you if PE's already very busy or not. If it is, there's every chance it'll be sold out by the day of the flight and there'll be no upgrades on sale at the airport.

Not likely to be cheaper at the airport - the price is the price - but at the moment you have a definitive offer of an upgrade but at the airport there may not be any available at all.

But that current offer will probably soon disappear if someone else nabs it or a PE seat gets bought for cash / miles .

Availability depends on all sorts of factors - destination, date of travel, loads. And just because space is available in a particular cabin does not mean that upgrades will be offered.
