Guys n' gals,

Thank you all so much for the brilliant advice you give out on here everyday:

Thanks to you, I've just managed to snag a flight to LAS with PE return and Upper on the way out for just over £900 + 25k miles. That was cheaper than the money only PE return pre-sale.

Never flown Upper and am verging on being delirious with excitement! Just 87 days to go and the small matter of PE to BGI and back in the interim!

One quick question: got a full choice of seats in Upper. Currently in 6A. I'll be flying alone. Is this a good choice?

WOW well done! I like 6A to be honest either side on the window aisle suits me.

I'd be tempted to move a bit further back to around row 8-10. You get a sense of more space sat a bit further back in the J cabin as the cabin gets wider.

I'm with James on this one. In 6A you'll be playing footsie with whoever sits opposite - great for couples, not so great for a single.

Agree with both if the above, row 8 or further back for a single traveller rows 6&7 a bit close to opposite side

Glad you all seem to think I've got bargain - as a first-time upgrader I wasn't sure but it seemed a pretty good deal to me.

Thank you for the advice on the seat. I'm in a bit of a quandary now:

Having peaked through the curtain on VS63 last year, I loved the idea of being right at the pointy end. Not least because, from a distance, it seemed that the windows there faced slightly forwards and that really appeals. Plus, of course, there is that added bonus of not having people walk past you (I plan to do my best to get a couple of hours kip as I'm visiting friends and want to be ready to party when I get there - hey, this is Vegas)! Marshy, you came down in favour of row 6. Are the benefits I perceive what you like about it?

However, I can see what you're saying about space: I've just taken another look at photos in Mr Mdvipond's MCO trip report from last year (the outbound one that is - I seem to have misplaced the return trip report and 6a does look a little more boxed in that the other suites. I'm now wondering if row 8 might be my best bet as there's clearly more space but it's not too close to the bar (not that I won't be availing myself of that particular perk. A lot)

As of a few minutes ago, there are still no other reserved seats in the cabin so I still have all options available. I shall mull it over!

I fly solo on that route a couple of times a year and always opt for row 6 if I can get it (A or K). You are not that close to the person opposite unless you are 7 foot tall, no one accidentally knocks your feet and wakes you up if you are trying to sleep, and you will be less likely to be disturbed by the noise from the bar if it is a bit raucous as it can be on the flight out. The downside is that there is no overhead locker directly over your seat, however during the flight you can keep your stuff on the side of the seat as there is a kind of shelf thing adjacent to the seat. Enjoy, it is a fabulous flight now the upgrade has happened

I'm a smidge under 6 foot so I think I'll be safe. May well stick with row 6.

Erring on A rather than K because if memory serves, my last flight to LAS (on UA) afforded better views of the strip on approach and landing. Despite this being my sixth trip to 'Sin City', the sight of the hotels is still a massive thrill. Although with the bar on board, I'm not sure how well I'll be able to focus on it all, but still... ):
