Just a quickie - can anyone remind me how much of a discount VA usually do in their Reward Seat Sales?
I have a feeling it used to be 50% back in the day, but don't think its as much anymore. (Unless its just pot luck!).
We've basically got just over 30k each and are hoping that will be enough for flights to SA in a Reward Seat Sale, but suspect it might be more like 35k.

An economy miles seat to JNB or CPT id 50k limes per person (plus hard cash for the fuel surcharge etc)
There was a reward seat sale not that long ago so it may be a while before there is another. The discount certainly wasn't as much as 50% and it didn't apply to all routes

I paid 17500 for my economy seat to MJB in the last sale, non sale "price" is 22,500.

Thanks guys - sounds like it might be lucky to even get them for 35k. Was aware of the tax etc, just trying to weigh up the options. In the sale just now flights are about £770 which doesn't seem to bad. But if we can get them with miles, even if we have to buy a few, we could still save a few quid.
We don't go until next May, so a bit of flexibility there at least.
