I'm looking to get away to Orlando in October.
I can see there is a mile sale on at the moment.
my question is if I use my miles to book an economy ticket can I use my economy to premium upgrade reward

Yes you can, as long as there is reward availability in PE.

You can easily check availability by doing a dummy booking on the VS website, selecting PE and "spend miles". That will show if there are reward seats up for grabs on your chosen flights, and if not it'll bring up a calendar showing the nearest dates when they are available.

Wasn't there a similar post the other day and someone said that in cases where someone wants to use a Y to PE upgrade voucher there only needs to be availability in PE and not Y and PE?

Yes, there only needs to be PE reward seats available for using the reward voucher.

However, I thought that they couldn't be combined with Y reward sale mileage amounts anymore? I thought VS put a stop to that?

I'm sure that's what I've done for our up & coming trip to IAD, though the amazing Agent who sorted it out managed to bamboozle me and get us out in Upper and back in PE for £900 and some miles for the 2 of us. Wonderful witchcraft oo)

I thought that too, but I have had a read of the T&C and, unless I have missed it, that exemption seems to have gone now.

The proof will be in the pudding though - a) how much PE reward availability there is and b) will the agents allow it?

Another question regarding the PE upgrade voucher - I have already used my two voucher upgrades for a trip in a couple of weeks time and my new vouchers will not be in my FC account until 10 Oct. Can I book using the Reward Seat Sale in Economy now (as it finishes on 20 Sep) for a flight next year and, subject to their being availability in PE, use my upgrade vouchers when they are applied to my account to upgrade these seats?

Yes, you can use the voucher to upgrade at any time prior to travel (but not at the airport).

There would have to be reward availability in Economy when you initially book though, as well as in PE when you upgrade.

I can confirm the vouchers are combinable with this reward seat sale. Just booked a trip to NYC and ORD for 4th July weekend and used one of my vouchers.

There doesn't have to be availability in Econ and PE, just PE.

Miles booster is also a bargain at the moment. Boosted a little red flight for £30 and got double the miles (3,000) plus the 1,000 miles bonus and the 20% extra offer. 4,600 miles for £30 is a bargain in my book. y)

So how do I go about claiming them ? On my FC statement it says I've got a companion flight qualification but doesn't mention PE upgrade vouchers

They should just appear in your FC statement if you've qualified.

Someone wiser than me will know exactly when they appear.

They appear on the anniversary of you opening your credit card account.

We booked flights on Friday 2 x 25,000, then used two upgrade rewards and for PE to MCO next Easter, £350 each. BARGAIN

Used 25000 miles for an economy ticket and then used my economy to premium upgrades
Happy days
Now all I need is access to the clubhouse lol
