Hi everyone, I have been looking on heathrow's departure page and have just noticed that the VS 200 to Sydney has been cancelled. Does anyone have any ideas why ?| ? It is so unusual for the 200 to be cancelled. Many thanks

There is a Tropical Cyclone heading towards Hong Kong so I think VS200 and VS201 have been cancelled.

Thanks Jacki. I thought it might have something to do with the weather! Most of the time it is!

VS tweeted out yesterday that it would be cancelled due to Typhoon Usagi, the crew onboard friday nights flight from HKG-LHR were talking about it while I ws at the bar and were already suggesting that would be the case. One of the crew was even supposed to be flying back out to HKG as a pax last night on her way to NZ.

Yup - I'm in HKG right now.

All flights Ex-HKG scheduled after 6 today have been cancelled.

Flights for "local" carriers before 6 are operating as normal.

Inbound International flights have been "advised against" if they were due to land any time after this morning.

The storm is slowly dying down (it was a "Super Typhoon" yesterday, downgraded to a "Severe Typhoon" today (250km/hr down to 175km/hr) but the place is ready to get battered by the elements and its approach towards us is gaining speed...

The airport floor/hotel seems to be VERY busy right now...
