Y Fare, M fare?

Hiya,
I've a rake of miles (about 70,000) and I'm considering going to NYC with the missus in June for my birthday. Looking at the info I reckon upgrading from economy to UC one way and PE the other is feasible. My question is, do you good people think it will be possible and will the cheapest necessary economy tickets be any cheaper than the "Y" ones shown on the VS website as the flexible fares on the days in question? Sorry for appearing cheap, but I am!!! ?|

If you login to your flying club account on the VS site and then goto:

http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/fr ... /index.jsp

You're able to select which upgradeable fare code to search for there instead of just seeing the fully flex Y options :)

There's plenty of UC reward availability to New York in June, except on Fridays and Mondays. Coming back in PE there are only two days in the whole month with no availability. So you should be in luck.

An upgradeable M fare is about £700, plus the extra taxes and fees for the upgrades.

Good luck!

Hi again,
thanks everybody, have had a look and yes, it all looks do-able. Might as well take advantage of the bonus on buying miles and go UC both ways. Thanks again for your help, don't know why I didn't see that feature of the FC flight search before.
Cheers!
