I am trying to find return flights to orlando next august. I have loads of miles, but I can't get reward seats home its jut not possible, but I have found some from washington to london . is this possible? or is it too much for 2 kids and husband to endure?
I have found that washing to london has pe seats but I would have to fly up from florida. I have found a flight which lands at 6:07 va then departs at 6:40 too tight?
the london flight lands at 7:05 with a conection to man at 930 land at 1030. I just want to clear customs and get on the plane no messing around. we then have to drive back from man to leeds!!
what do you think?

Trying to get reward seats on a popular route in the school holidays will always be a challenge - difficult, but not impossible! However, if you have no patience, flexibility or confidence to wait - then it's probably best to look at a different option.
NY is often a good option with reward availability, given the high volume of flights.
I would say the return would be too tight - you need to check in for VS atleast 60 mins before with luggage.

I very much doubt if that would be a legal connection. Remember there is a time lapse between landing, arriving at the gate and disembarking. You may be lucky but I doubt it. In any case you will have to go from one concourse to another and all of that will take every single minute of that connecting time. Your better bet is to connect via JFK

First tip would be to slow down a little. August flights have only been fully released for a few days now so it is still very early to be giving up finding reward seats, they probably haven't even been released yet.
You mention Vegas, that is just bizarre, it's a good 5 hour internal flight from MCO to LAS in the wrong direction, so completely forget that idea.
If I were you, I would try and book some economy flights in a fare code that can be upgraded, upgrade the outbound now if available and then check daily for the return flights. Okay it might cost a bit more than a straight reward seat, but at least that way you have seats on the flight you want, in and out of the airports you want, which in the long run are the most important factors.

thanks for that! maybe I need to take a breath.
I thought i would spend a couple of days in vegas and win a fortune:)
the problem with new york to london is the connection back to manchester. the flight lands at 1940 and the last flight up to manchester is 2010 is that not too tight?

Something else to consider to open your arrival point options;
train it to MAN from Leeds then you're not forced to have to go back there, then if you get back to LHR, can either BA direct to LBA, ( a combination which has just worked well for us, with minimal hassle) or Train back from KGX - overall time-wise similar, given changing flights etc etc (again LHR to KGX various options)

Yes, you do need to take a breath. The NY-LHR flight you mention is the day flight and at the moment the only one showing reward availability. There are several overnight flights which will give you better connections "oop north" but the reward flights have not been released yet.
As Neil says, it's early days so take it easy

OK, take another deep breath and sleep on it. You've got the best part of eleven months to organise it.
