Anyone Fancy A Challenge?

Hi Guys,

I posted this on flyertalk because Virgin said they cannot help me on my budget...

I wondered if anyone would be able to help me with a few suggestions…

I have been trying to figure a route for travel this Saturday, and cannot make it work…

I am trying to fly from LHR to LAX to HKG to LHR in premium econ, but cannot find a decent fair…

My dates are

5th Oct - LHR to LAX
10/11th Oct - Lax to HKG
15th Oct - HKG to LHR

All in premium or above, but I cannot get a fair under £4000.

I need to be in LAX for meetings (so not lagged) for Monday 7th till Wednesday 9th and then be in HKG for Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th for meetings (again, not lagged). I can fly home late Tuesday or anytime Wednesday 16th.

Can anyone recommend a decent route that does not cost the earth? I would rather not return to LHR and then depart on to HKG, but if I have to, then will.

I would rather fly Virgin PE on these routes to boost the miles and tier points :) :)

Any advice would be really appreciated. y) y) y)

Thanks,

Danno

Your chief problem is that your departure is within 7 days, so you'll be subject to the highest fares.

Always love a challenge..... upgradeable economy bucket will still be open (look for an M) - if you have mileage to spend that is? You can then upgrade into PE or UC depending on miles you have stashed and availability.

No miles, as I the Wifey and I used them for 2 UC return from LHR to SFO in Dec / Jan 13.

Thanks,

Have you tried booking the sectors separately? Or you could book the first and last legs on the VS website and the other on the CX site.

Just had a quick look. You could take a one way ticket to Dublin and then this??

I know it's going back to go forward but it might save you around £600.

^^wow still pretty pricey :?

Have a look at the maths associated with the open jaw M fare LHR-LAX and HKG-LHR, then buying the miles needed to upgrade into PE or UC. I would wager that will still be cheaper than the full out Ws or Js that you would have to buy otherwise.

(the one way LAX-HKG will have to be advised on by another member - CX perhaps?)
