Upper Class Lounge Access?

Thought my days of flying often and turning left were over now that there is no need for me to travel for my work and also now that I have a child at a very expensive boarding school (I actually thought that holidays would be a thing of the past for five years!) but my husband has just booked for us all to go to the US, flying out Premium Economy on Christmas Day. Thought I remembered reading a while ago on here (in my flying days) that you could buy access to the UC lounge - is still that the case if you are not flying UC?

If, on the day, there is space, they sometimes sell CH access for £60pp, however it is strictly capacity controlled so if they are expecting a busy day in the CH then they won't be any for sale.

You cannot buy access in advance, unless it is a package booked through VH, and again they have a limited amount of CH that is sold for £60pp.

Neil is spot on - again...

If you ask on the day you can get access, I know a lot of people who do this, but depending upon flight times its a bit pot luck.

Does anyone know how you can get access to the revivals lounge on the way back..?

That is much more tightly controlled because it's a lot smaller.

Only UC and AU pax allowed - and no +1s.

I have never heard of anyone that shouldn't have lounge access due to their status or through flying UC gaining access to revivals.

It is a lot smaller space so their just isn't the capacity to sell or grant guest access without potentially causing hindrance to those who should have it.

If you go on the virgin atlantic website there is something called guest list? Which apes you to have access to the clubhouse and the extras such as check in at the UC desk to? Bit steep but worth a look for the lounge?

If you're willing to fork out a minimum of £240 for two glorified taxis and 3 hours in an airport lounge (albeit one of the best in the world) then yes, it's worth a look.

Personally I think it's a rip-off, only worth considering for a very special occasion (eg a honeymoon). There are much cheaper quality taxi firms and, while the CH is great, it's not three figure sum great.

Well you have now. This must have been a good 5-7 years ago, myself and mother were in Y and father in UC. Just arrived on VS201 into LHR and the most important part of this story is that it was a Saturday morning. We also had a CDC booked by the way.

DF went into revivals and myself and DM stood outside of revivals with 2 trolleys of suitcases. The lady from revivals came outside and invited one of us to join my DF in revivals. She did mentioned that she could only let one of us in as it was a Saturday and it was quite quiet inside. DM joined DF in revivals and I stood outside waiting, they weren't in there for long as the driver for CDC turned up half hour later.
