A very sad day

This is a very sad day for me, after 9 years as a VS Gold Card holder I have just been demoted to silver due to lack of TP collected in the past 12 months, not quite the same seeing those silver luggage labels.

I am sure that with counselling I will eventually get over the shock.

9 years! To think that you were just a year away from AU for life. That really is sad

Ouch!!!
That is very, very sad news.
I think I may also been in the same boat next year.
My trips to the US are getting longer in duration thus less trips over. I am already shuddering with the thought!!!! v(

Just take some DL domestics while you're there! 3 TPs for each sector in F isn't to be sniffed at ...

Maybe they should actually try and reward a loyal flyer with gold rather than throw them around like confetti with various card/other promotions?

I'll volunteer to be VF counsellor and set up a support group for those who have lost AU status... ):

TPs earned on partner airlines dont count towards the 300TP needed for Gold for Life membership though

Huh, I have just reread the gold for life criteria - have they changed the wording recently? - as it now stands it implies a rolling 10 year threshold whereby you must earn 300TPs in any 10 year consecutive period... :? :?

Yep, I have just dug out the initial email leaving it unclear if you had to earn all 300TPs within the 10 year period or whether of not it was a two part qualifier.... They probably changed the wording after the lengthy debate we had on here ii) - sorry for restarting it :P

Many thanks Bretty, I will be in touch once I am up to making a call.

Support from my fellow V Flyers is a tremendous help during this very difficult period in my life.

On a serious note, that's rotten news for you and any others it's happened to.
